Dr Paul Coulthard.BChD, MFGDP(UK)RCS

Paul has returned to his home town after qualifying in 1982 from Leeds University. He gained top marks in the final examinations being awarded the Watssman Prize for Clinical Dental Practice.

After qualifying Paul first worked in a large NHS practice in Sunderland. He joined Kelvin Lodge in 1987 as an associate replacing the founding member Mr Raymond Stubley on his retirement. He became a Partner in 1994.

He completed the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2003 and is a member of the British Dental Association. He has recently completed a one year Restorative dentistry course held in Manchester and has recorded over eighty hours of post graduate study in the past 18months.

2008 sees Paul qualified now for 25 years and into his 21st year at Kelvin Lodge. He has always maintained a healthy interest in post graduate dental education, over the last three years concentrating on cosmetic dentistry and Smile Makeover treatment. Having completed over ninety hours of verified study, he has just become a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Recently he attended a course in London which was run bt the CCADS, Californian Centre for Advanced Dental Studies, learning how to transform discoloured, twisted or spaced teeth into wonderful smiles, using the lastest veneers and crowns. The laboratory he now uses for this work is the world first class Frontier Laboratory based in California.

Paul is married to Sally, a research scientist and they have two boys Nicholas who is ten and Richard who is seven. Outside work his main interest is golf being an ex-county player and Club champion. He also enjoys keeping fit at the gym and skiing.

 


Dr Andrew R.Greenwood
BDS.DGDP(UK)RCS.Dip.Imp.Dent.RCS(Eng)

Andrew comes from Halifax in West Yorkshire . He qualified in 1986 from Newcastle University and has worked continuously in general practice. Whilst running his own Practice in Gateshead, Andrew provided Orthodontic treatment at Kelvin Lodge until he became a Partner when Mr Gordon Jennings retired in 1999.

In 1995, he successfully completed the Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons. As a member of the Faculty, he demonstrates a continuing commitment to post-graduate education. He is treasurer of the Northern Division of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners and a member of the British Dental Association, the British Orthodontic Society, the British Society of Oral Implantology, the International Team for Implantology and the Association of Dental Implantology. He has also been a Clinical Assistant in Orthodontics at Newcastle Dental Hospital.

Andrew passed the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 2006. He has since been asked to be a Clinical Tutor for the course and is a Mentor for the Ankylos Implant system. He is currently studying for The Diploma of Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Andrew is married to Janet, a physiotherapist and they have a son, James. Outside work his main interests are racing a sports car in the Radical Enduro Series, supporting Medicals Rugby Club and snowboarding, windsurfing and sailing.

 


Dr David Row.BDS.DGDP(UK)RCS

David is originally from North Wales . He went to school at Sedburgh in Yorkshire and qualified in 1986 from Newcastle University . After spending a year in London as an Associate he returned to the North East to work firstly in Killingworth and later Ashington. He joined Kelvin Lodge in 1994 following the retirement of Mr Michael Atkinson.

David enjoys all aspects of general practice and in 1995 completed the diploma in General Dental Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a member of the British Dental Association, the British Society of Periodontology and the Association of Dental Implantology.

He is currently one of a small number of dentists providing a pilot scheme for insurance for dental implants. He is a member of the North of England Dental Implant Group and has been using implants in restorative dentistry since 1995.

David is married to Georgina , a hygienist who has also worked at Kelvin Lodge. They have two children Sam who is sixteen and Elizabeth who is fourteen.

His interests include playing golf, skiing, supporting Medicals and Newcastle Falcons Rugby Clubs and Newcastle United.

 


Dr Paul Shenfine BChD. BA (Hons)

Paul recently joined the team at Kelvin Lodge in October 2006, moving from a Private Practice in Jesmond. Paul was born and brought up in Newcastle, only moving away to do Dentistry at Leeds. Qualifying in 1988, he received top marks in several examinations and was awarded the coveted Clinical Dental Surgery Prize.

Paul’s skills and expertise in smile design and facial aesthetics are in high demand and his reputation is built on the wealth of experience he has gained as a full member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry (one of only two in the Newcastle area) and also from providing Botox and Restylane treatments to many satisfied clients for over three years at a local clinic. Committed to post graduate education, Paul has recorded over eighty hours of advanced postgraduate study in the past 18 months.

Outside dentistry Paul’s lifelong interest in Art culminated in his completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Newcastle University in June 2006. Paul says, “The Art gives me an ‘artistic perspective’ and certainly helps with Dentistry, which when it is at its best is a mix art and science.

Paul is married to Julie, a Consultant Child Psychiatrist and they have a daughter, Amy, and a son, Ben. Outside work his main interest is Art but he also enjoys keeping fit, cycling and running.
